roe deer in south tynside

iv always known that a few roe deer managed to wander into the west pastures and boldon area.
i first saw 4 about early to mid 1980s not far from where asda is now when it was open farm land.
i think they get corridored down the dis-used railway line from lamptons side ending up beside the spoil heaps at wardley.(seen one there also).
june 27th i had been in the fields for a week with the 2 dogs birding and walking about at night with the bat box trying to find something other than pips, when i saw 2 roe just strole across the field i was pleased i had the dogs tethered.
home for about a week then bag packed and away back over the fields just for afew days.....14
day 1 hadnt even pitched the tent i was talking to a mate when 'stagglie' came into view, no hurry just a casual walk untill he picked our scent up then he was away into strip woods. more poor pics.
mick my cider loving mate has seen the stag on his way home down near the marsh area tho im not sure it was pink...
so that left only peter who hadnt seen any roe deer tho he had seen tracks (cuts) in the winter.
i knew it would only be a matter of time before he bumped into them as hes ofen over birding.
so last week he txt to say he would see me at base camp later and sure enough by the marsh area he came straight onto the stag grazing up wind from him so he had a great veiw.
just need better pics and maybe a video now :)

26.10.09

backpak loaded with mono pod and nikkon d60,snacks and juice.
mossy oak realtree coat panasonic compact in the pocket,no dogs today so im off.
Quadrus pond only one sygnet left with the pen and cob i hope the other two have flew off and not been carried off.
Normal wildlife on the pond coots, moorehens and mallards plus the bastard white duck...
no sighn of the kingfisher today, plenty blackbirds about the undergrowth saw the odd wren but heard afew more.
Next across the road onto the old railway line now a footpath/bridalway.
a group of longtailed tits moved from tree to tree heading west,a rabbit or two on the track ahead
then a gleaming cock pheasant strutted towards me before cutting into a young wheat field.
Checked the don for water voles,no sign but im sure their about.
Cut thru the kissing gate (no fun alone)followed the rough right of way past the sub station then across the A19 into 'THE PASTURES'.
More pheasants running into cover crows and woodpigeon dropping and lifting from one field to the next.
The moles have been busy in the hay field
